ANOTHER WEEK BITES THE DUST - 16 June 2013
Sundays always seem to creep up on me. Since I now have a family my weekends somehow now feel shorter and shorter. I don’t ever feel like I have enough time to do what I need to and on days like today when I am sleep deprived it’s difficult to be motivated enough to get anything done. I don’t mind it though because in the scheme of things my life is great.
Since my baby girl has kept us up all night we thought we’d head out, get some fresh air, sunshine, breakfast and a strong coffee. On a positive note she managed to take her first steps today unexpectedly which was pretty exciting.
Here’s to another weekend gone and my very lazy throw on whatever outfit.

SNAPPED - 17June 2013
Snaps are quickly taken before I head off to work. On days like today it’s still dark out so unfortunately the lighting has worked against the mobile phone photography.
I’ve started the week with my boots over some sporty trousers with leather look zipper pockets. A huge plus about these trousers is that they have an elasticated waist. This was coupled with a simple royal blue top, tailored blazer and long strap vintage bag.
Once again thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.

SUMMER MEETS WINTER -15 June 2013
When you haven’t hit the shops to purchase any new clothes in the last 6 months you start to blend in your summer and winter wardrobe. So if this outfit looks a little confused to you that’s the only excuse I have to offer aside from the fact that I love to experiment with the clothes I own.
Today’s outfit combination just works for me. Not because of the way it makes me look but more because of the way it makes me feel. The satisfaction of making the most of all my clothes and not caring about the weather or if the look I bring forward is in fashion or not.
Outfit breakdown
Floral maxi dress
Black biker jacker
Black lace up booties
Vintage 70’s handbag
Thanks for reading all and enjoy the weekend.

TAILOR - 9 June
Hello gorgeous people
I wore this outfit on Sunday so this post is a little delayed. I had to post about it though because there’s a little story behind these trousers.
For those that have been following me for quite some time now, you will all be aware that I committed to not purchase any new clothing for the entire 2013. As crazy as this commitment sounds I have no new clothes and everything I have blogged about to date is old- this years effort to contribute to less cosumerism and still remain as stylish as possible.
These trousers are one of three that I purchased from Banana Republic back in 2010. They were straight legged trousers with slightly flarred bottoms. I no longer liked the cut of these trousers but I didn’t want them to go to waste either. Also since petite trousers with just the perfect length for me are so darn hard to come by and new trousers aren’t an option I took them to the tailors. I had the all trousers modified requesting to have them cut in narrow down the legs. They turned out beautifully.
Things have certainly changed since I never do this. My old self would have donated these trousers or simply left them in a dark place never to be worn again. So there you go. A little something to think about for all those items you own that may never be worn again.
I know this story may not seem significant but it is! No new clothes for a year is a huge commitment for someone who’s a clothes lover to make.

HOT NOR COLD - 10 June 2013
Melbourne is world famous for its 4 seasons a day weather. It’s a place that provides great weather for layering because you never know when you might just need to put that top back on or take it off.
Whats great about this denim boiler suit is it’s comfortable and great for when the weather is not hot nor cold. It’s also easily dressed up with a pair of heels or dressed down with some high tops. An absolute wardrobe essential for me.
We are off to lunch so I thought I’d pretty it up a little with these lace up heels and vintage bag.

CORPORATE MEETS PUNK - 22 May 2013
Black on black on black isn’t foreign to me, however layering chains is. I absolutely love this concept. Not only does it break up all the black I am wearing, it also provides a more edgy punk look. I can’t wait to layer these chains with a more casual outfit.

ATTITUDE - 25 May 2013
Today I celebrated a belated birthday lunch with my besties. Over lunch we talked about the upcoming trip to Hawaii and how great the shopping is going to be. This led to me confirming my committment to not buy any new clothes as I have more than enough. That said I’d love a new designer bag. Needless to say, my girlfriends were impressed with my attitude and mentioned how well I have done in the past 5 months. In fact I think the conversation even inspired them to think twice about compulsively shopping. I love that I inspire others to make the most of what they have.
You don’t need new clothes to look good or stay fashionable. Just be confident in your own sense of style. I think I am a living example of just that.

LOVE FOR TARTAN - 6 June 2013
I love love love tartan and have always owned a tartan piece on my wardrobe.
This shirt is quite old and I have always ever worn it with jeans on my days off work however I thought I’d incorporate it into my workwear today. Certainly a style that you could only get away with at a smart casual workplace.

TRENCHIN’ - 5 June 2013
Hello lovelies
Firstly sorry about the quality of these photos. It was cold and dark this morning so the lighting didn’t quite work in our favour. Nevertheless, hubs who takes all my pictures tried his best using my mobile phone. Truth be told like most bloggers, we do have a pro camera but it’s just so much more convenient to use my phone for all the photos.
Today’s smart casual look was layered with one of a few trench coats I own. I love the colour of this coat, the fact that it’s lightweight enough to feel comfortable on, large enough to layer, and thick enough to keep me warm.
It works really well with that Burberry bag too don’t you think? Not to mention the lasercut top that I am completely obsessed with at the moment.

BOW - 4 June 2013
I absolutely love tieing up my scarf into a bow. A scarf tied into a bow makes quite the cute accessory over an outfit that has simple colours and patterns.
It works particularly well with dresses and you can make the bow as large or small as you want to suit the attire. Easy to take of in the office to.
Give it a go!
